About the Item

A set of Southwest Pueblo pottery from New Mexico. Each vessel is signed by Annette Silas (Hopi) & F. Waquie (Jemez). The vessels are fired earthenware with highly stylized geometric designs in red and stark black and white. Jemez pottery has been sought after by collectors for decades. The Native American people of this region are known for a wealth of culture and art. Recognized for the intricate line designs which the artists completed freehand. Although decorative, the objects were made with functionality in mind and could also be used for drinking, storage, or ceremonial purposes. From a private collection. Dimensions: 3.75” h x 3.25”dia / 4.25”h x 2.5”dia. In exceptionally good vintage condition consistent with age.
