Antique Native American Beaded Moccasins, Crow 'Plains Indian', circa 1870

About the Item

A vintage/antique pair of Native American beaded moccasins, created circa 1870 during the Late Classic Period of North American Indian art by a Crow (Plains Indian) artist. Composed of native tanned hide and partially beaded in a classic banded design with pink, blue, white, yellow, green and red seed beads. The Crow, or Apsáalooke, originally lived in the Great Lakes region in the Ohio Territory and moved westward settling in the Dakota, Montana and Wyoming territories including the Yellowstone River valley. Dimensions as shown together: 10.5 x 9 inches. Each individual moccasin measures approximately 10.5" L x 4.5" W x 3.5" H.
