19th Century Folk Art Carved Spanish Love Bird Figure

About the Item

A handmade late 19th century Folk Art carved wooden love bird, with original paint still visible across sections of this item. The bird would like have been placed with the confines of a church alter or similar area within a church. This item is quite rare due to its visual form and unique hand carved detail. Recently uncovered in a private collection is Paris, untouched in form. Dimensions in inches: H 10 x W 3.5 x D 4 Origin: Spanish Period: 1880 Condition: Aged through wear and tear is present across this item, fading of the surface in sections is present, a wonderful patination across the wood with loads of character, there are no breaks across this item although some make shift sections have been added still in line with this item original look. The wings and tip of the beak are missing, Please view all the photos as part of this advert, before a purchase is made.
