About the Item
Beautiful original painted Folk Art Swedish Sewing Stand, circa 1830. Presented in its original soft yellow color scheme with hand painted bows and flowers.
Adjustable Wooden Pincushion. This pincushion features a thick padded cloth top, providing a cushioned surface for holding needles or pins. It sits on a cylindrical base with adjustable height, enabling the user to modify the height for ease of use, whether for hand-sewing or embroidery. The top opens to storage where sewing tools, needles, thread, etc. could be stored. The pincushion and frame is painted with small flowers and foliage on a yellow background with green trim. The cylindrical base rests in a flat, wooden rectangular base on small wooden bun feet. Height can be adjusted up to 29 inches. This rare early 19th century adjustable sewing table is a beautiful example of period craftsmanship, combining functionality with ornate design.
