Mennonite Trip Around the World Quilt

About

It's difficult to believe, but true, that a quilt with such electric colors is from the 19th century. It is the ultimate version of a Mennonite Trip Around the World quilt. The Joseph's Coat, or rainbow, border beautifully combines seven colors. The blue, brown and purple strips placed next to each other make an especially deep, rich outer frame. The same colors are used throughout the quilt but predominate differently because of their placement. Measurements are 82" square. Lebanon County, Pennsylvania origin; circa 1880s.
