About the Item
c. 1920s; mfd. by The H. D. Beach Co. (Coshocton, OH) for Reed Manufacturing Co. - Erie, PA
Antique new-old-stock tin-over-cardboard (TOC) advertising sign.
This piece advertises Reed Mfg. Co., a Pennsylvania-based manufacturer of vises and pipe tools, and who are still in business today. The sign features an illustrated depiction of one of Reed's utility workshop vises, later versions would have a swivel base option. This crisp and clean central graphic is placed in a field of deep red, making this an eye-catching addition to any wall space or collection. The H.D. Beach Co. of Coshocton, Ohio was a specialty advertising company founded by Henry Daniel Beach in 1901.

Antique Wrought Iron Welder's Trade Sign
Located in Montreal, QC
This large double side Welder's Mask Sign hung outside a iron mongers work shop boldly visible for the coming and going. Supported by heavy chains the mask sign was eerie and a bit sinister and not for the faint hearted. The banging and trunking of metal being forged into their desired shapes, along with sparks flying through the soot filled air. You only dared to enter if you were ready to conduct business in the creation of your project.
