Early 20th Century Butchers Products Co. Painted Tin Sign
About the Item
1910s-20s; Fulton Meat Market district - Chicago, IL
The property at the northeast corner of Peoria and Fulton streets in Chicago was most recently a burger joint, but in the late 1800s, it was a thriving saloon. In the early 1900s, it turned into a soda fountain, ice cream shop, and deli. But sometime between the turn of the century and the 1930s the space spent time as a butcher shop, which isn't surprising considering the Fulton Market area had been the center of Chicago's meats for decades.
