Carved blackened wood horned antelope - human mask Dan People Ivory Coast, Africa. Two vertical horns probably representing a young antelope, large open round eyes and projecting lips. It is in good condition, appropriate for its age, use, and medium. Well used with early dry patina, chips and erosion in places. Scuffs and nicks here and there. Good evidence of use and wear inside from tribal use. Mid 20th century. 13 3/8 inches high mounted on custom metal and wood stand, total height 17 inches From old Southern California collection,
