Kurtis Antone (Coast Salish, B. 1970) Signed Raven Ceremonial Dance Mask, Canada

About the Item

A powerfully carved mask representing the Raven, culture hero and trickster of Northwest Coast tribal legend. Kurtis was born on the Capilano reservation in North Vancouver, British Columbia and is a member of the Squamish tribe of the Coast Salish Nation. Kurtis Antone carved cedar wood and paint decorated raven figural mask sculpture with raffia. Signed in marker on the interior. Dimensions: 36" L, 10" H, 9" W (without raffia mane) Condition: Please see detail photos. The overall condition is very good with only minor acceptable age-related wear including some loose raffia strands and a few nicks and rubs which do not detract from the powerful and dynamic presentation.
