Strong Marka antelope - human wood mask with metal, Mali Africa. Large square open eyes, long nose with horizontal lips, three projecting brass metal braids ending with feathered cloth tips over face, two stylized antelope horns on top. It is in good condition, appropriate for its age, use, and medium. Well used with early dry patina, chips and erosion in places. Scuffs and nicks here and there. Good evidence of use and wear inside from tribal use. early to Mid 20th century. 13 1/2 inches high mounted on custom metal and wood stand, total height 17 1/2 inches From old Southern California collection,
