About the Item

A stunning and finely detailed French 19th century Renaissance st. Verdigris bronze, Gilt Metal, Wrought Iron, and Giltwood chandelier. This wonderful sixteen light fifteen arm two tiered chandelier is centered by a berried Gilt Metal bottom finial below the central frosted glass flame. Extending from the flame are 'S' scrolled Wrought Iron arms that support the pentagon shaped bottom tier. The frame of the bottom tier is decorated with Gilt Metal sunburst designs that flank larger scale oval cabochons on all sides. On each corner of the bottom tier are pairs of 'S' scrolled Wrought Iron arms with acanthus leaves and lily pad bobeches atop. Hanging below each corner of the bottom tier are Giltwood topie shaped pendants. Above each corner of the bottom tier are elongated 'S' scrolled Wrought Iron arms with Gilt Metal foliate central reserves that support the similarly decorated upper tier. The upper tier contains one 'S' scrolled Wrought Iron arm on each corner as well as a Gilt Metal tulips hanging from the central reserves. Leading up to the top crown are five 'C' scrolled Wrought Iron arms coming from the corners of the upper tier. The top crown is decorated with draping garments and displays a pagoda shape with a beautiful floral spray of blossoming flowers above. *Shades shown for display purposes only, sold separately.
