French 19th Century Renaissance St. Wrought Iron Chandelier

About the Item

An handsome and most unique French 19th century Renaissance st. Wrought Iron chandelier. The chandelier is centered by a stunning central cage with Wrought Iron scrolls at the bottom before a smooth studded band below the pierced center displaying large scale palmettes. A wonderful twisted rope band wraps around the top of the cage which connects the four arms in the shape of dragons, which hold the large scale foliate lanterns suspended by chains in their mouths. Acanthus leaves and Wrought Iron 'S' scrolls lead up to four twisted supports which connect at the top to create a wonderful scrolled reserve with additional swaging acanthus leaves. Above is the wonderful original Wrought Iron chain and canopy in the shape of an acanthus leaf. Chain and Canopy Height: 31"
