French Late 19th Century Belle Epoque Style Gilt Bronze Chandelier

About the Item

A gilt and patinated bronze chandelier very much in the Louis XVI style; three gilt chains hang from a draped canopy and connect with three goats heads which hold the upper three scrolling candle arms. In the middle of the upper arms is a gilded basket of flowers which connects to the lower conical section of the chandelier which is of a dark bronze colour decorated with applied gilded mounts. This conical lower base supports another three pairs of scrolling candle arms, each pair joining the base with a large gilded classical head, and each pair of arms joined below with a hanging gilded bronze swag. The chandelier has been recently electrified. French, circa 1900.
