Maria Theresa Chandelier in Transparent Shiny Murano Glass 1980s Venice Italy.
This elegant Maria Teresa chandelier, entirely handmade in Murano – the worldwide known Venetian island for its unrivaled blown glass tradition – dates back to the 1980s. Made of clear, shiny transparent Murano glass, the style of chandelier refers to Maria Theresa, Austrian Empress from 1740 to 1780. The imperial style recurs in both the body and the three arms of the chandelier, forming a riot of shiny glass details. The body consists of a flower chalice, from which clear glass crosiers and three arms branch out. Each of them contains a light bulb resting on a transparent glass flower. The arms and the bottom of the chandelier are decorated with refined almond-shaped pendants, which reflect sunlight creating beautiful glares. The chandelier has a diameter of 45 cm and a height of 50 cm included the chain that connects it to the ceiling (with no chain the chandelier is 35 cm high).
