Completely original Arts and Crafts hallway, kitchen or bedroom pendant.
An exceptional example of early industrial design, this rare Holophane pendant light (model 2712.R, patented No. 38087, England) showcases both engineering excellence and timeless aesthetics. Crafted in the early 20th century, this piece features a prismatic glass diffuser comprised of two interlocking parts and each precision-molded to maximize light diffusion and minimize glare, a signature innovation of Holophane.
The glass shade is housed in a beautifully aged patinated bronze gallery with original hardware, stamped “HOLOPHANE 5” and complete with functional vent holes and chain suspension. The intricate ridged patterns of the glass not only make for a stunning visual display when lit but also serve the original technical purpose of refracting and evenly dispersing light.
This fixture is ideal for both modern and classic interiors and makes a bold statement over kitchen islands, dining tables, or entryways. A rare and highly collectible piece for design lovers and industrial lighting enthusiasts.
This great looking Arts and Crafts prismatic glass pendant is rewired to the highest standard for safe and immediate usage in the USA as well. It will easily take a bulb of 100 watts, but for our photos we used a 70 watt bulb.

The designer and artist who created this Arts & Crafts work of lighting art must have been inspired by the wonderful colors that mother nature has to offer in the late afternoons and evenings in the summer. Especially the copper red light that the sun creates when disappearing under the horizon seems the source of inspiration for this artist. With the colors in this particular alabaster shade AND in the brass 'frame' corresponding with the marvelous colors at sundown this one of a kind pendant really is a joy to own and to look at. In our experience it is also at that time of day that swallows are the most active. Just like the embossed swallows in this shade we too have seen them circling above and around a swimming pool in the Canary Islands. By the way, the workmanship that has gone into hand-crafting this remarkable chandelier is of a level that you don't find anymore in this day and age. Never mind the amount of time it must have taken to first hand-draw and then completely hand-craft this gem. We have said it many times before and we will say it again here: both with the light switched on and off, the colors in this alabaster shade are much warmer and much more beautiful than in our photos. You can take our word for it. Because of the many colors and 'patches' one could also say that this pendant (when looking at it from different sides and angles) has many faces. That too is the beauty of surrounding yourself with truly natural materials.
