Russian 19th century Neo-Classical st. Ormolu, Glass and Crystal chandelier

About the Item

An exquisite and high quality Russian 19th century Neo-Classical st. Ormolu, Glass and Crystal chandelier. This spectacular circular chandelier is centered at the bottom by hexagonal tier with concave sides and displaying an intricate rope twist pattern above rows of prism shaped cut Crystals. At each corner of the tier rise faceted Crystal spheres with dagger finials, to which the scrolled and twisted Ormolu arms are attached. The arms lead to delicate foliate bobeches below the beaded candle cups, and glass saucers accented with hanging kite shaped Crystals. At the center is a stunning cobalt blue Glass sphere which is surrounded by the Crystal daggers, each being linked together by Crystal garlands attached to a circular Ormolu hoop. Leading up the Ormolu central support are additional tiers of cut Crystal prisms in graduating size, below a stunning spray of scrolled Ormolu arms accented with Crystal pendants. *Shades, Canopies and Chain shown for display purposes, sold separately.
