Small Mid Century Italian Rococo Style Crystal Single-Light Chandelier

About the Item

This small mid-century Italian chandelier, crafted in the Rococo style, features a birdcage-style brass armature with a single light. The brass frame is adorned with encrusted faceted crystal beading, delicate brass extensions, crystal rosettes, and scalloped crystals. A smooth, clear crystal ball hangs gracefully at the center, completing the design. In the pre-electricity era, crystal elements were prized for their ability to refract and amplify light, enhancing both illumination and beauty. Today, Rococo-style lighting, with its flowing curves and timeless elegance, continues to be a sought-after choice for interior design projects. When illuminated, the faceted beads and crystal rosettes create a dazzling display of light, making this chandelier a captivating accent piece. Its compact size and sophisticated design allow it to complement a variety of spaces, adding a touch of timeless charm and elegance. Dimensions without ceiling cover and chain: H=20 in. W=13 in. Early 20th Century French Rococo Revival Five Arm Bronze and Crystal Chandelier
Located in Chicago, IL
This early 20th-century five-arm Rococo-style bronze and crystal chandelier features porcelain plaques inspired by the works of Jean-Honoré Fragonard, a renowned French Rococo painter. The Rococo style is celebrated for its ornate elements, intricate curves, and nature-inspired motifs. The chandelier's cast bronze body is adorned with porcelain plaques and crystal prisms in various shapes and sizes. Encrusted crystal beads at the bottom enhance illumination and beauty. When lit, the faceted crystals create a brilliant display, complementing the exquisite bronze detailing. This chandelier blends seamlessly with another similar chandelier, which, while not identical, mirrors its aesthetic charm. The other chandelier, made of gilt bronze and brass, complements this one beautifully, despite lacking gilding. Gilt bronze, also known as ormolu, has been gilded with a thin layer of gold, giving it a more luxurious and luminous appearance than plain bronze, which retains its natural, darker patina. They also pair harmoniously with our tall early 20th-century French Giltwood Mirror featuring Fragonard porcelain...
