Stunning Italian Maiolica Ceramic and Brass Ceiling Lamp with four glass shades

About the Item

Beautiful long ceiling lamp in brass with two magnificent pieces of Italian maiolica ceramics in gold, cream, and green hues. One ceramic piece is part of the canopy, while the second larger one is within the structure. The manufacturing process of Maiolica highly textured ceramics produces unique brilliant and translucent colors that don´t fade with time. The lamp has four flower-shaped glass shades for standard lightbulbs, with one at the very bottom and three distributed diametrically with three brass arms with delicate leaf-shaped ornaments. The canopy and the structure are connected by a chain. A very suitable piece for a high ceiling corner or hall. The ceramic pieces have some markings (on the inside) but we were not able to determine the precise author or manufacturer.

The set is orange and white, a very striking retro combination of colors. All 38 pieces are in very good shape. Paul McCobb was born in 1917 in Medford, Massachusetts.
