Vintage Baroque Style Gold Infused Opaline Murano Chandelier
About the Item
This exquisitely handcrafted gold-infused opaline Murano chandelier has three flexing arms with petal trimmed cups. The milky opaline glass veers towards a light blue color with subtle changes in the light. Flowers and leaves embellish this glass chandelier, blooming from the small bulbous center column. The piece has further detailing of scroll stems, twirling leaf ends, and rigaree trim; exhibiting a masterful flair in glass craftsmanship.
The glass-houses on the island of Murano are famous for highly ornamented glass chandeliers created by the inflation of molten glass followed by cutting, pincering, and other rapidly executed decorations and details. The body and arms of this piece are made of opaline Venetian glass enhanced with 24-carat gold leaf. Opaline glass is typically made a bluish-white by the addition of Calcium phosphate (bone ash) and opalescent by the addition of fluorides. The golden details are concentrated on the trims, petals and leaves which compliment the shifting opalescent hues.

- Condition:Rewired: This chandelier is rewired to meet US electrical standards. It takes three base-size bulbs, incandescent or LED. This fixture requires a canopy and chain which is not included. Three feet of wire at the top can be adjusted to the preferred height. Wear consistent with age and use. Glassblown, no part is perfect or identical. Might be natural imperfections, but no chips, or cracks in the glass. Parts are disassembled and require assembly. Fixture will require special handling and shipping by an experienced white glove service.
