Studio Alchimia Arc-en-Ciel lamp, designed by Andrea Belossi in 1979.
After the sun comes rain: A wonderful example of the postmodern lighting is the Arc-en-Ciel lamp, designed by Andrea Belossi for Studio Alchimia.
By Imitating a natural phenomenon it creates an artificial landscape in your home. The lamp itself is a great example of postmodern lighting turning towards the creation of light atmospheres rather than the design of illuminated objects.
The rainbow pattern is created by a prism that breaks the Ray of the halogen bulb into spectral colours, that are projected throughout the room. By turning the axis of the lamp the position of the prism and therefore the position of the projection can be leveled up and down, a dimmer allows to stear light intensity. During the day it will cast a light rainbow, and a very bright after sunset.
Caution: Turned on the entire shield of the lamp will become hot and it must not be moved when turned on.
The lamp is in used but good to very good condition showing mostly minor scratches on the shield. The prism is in very good condition & the lamp is fully working.
The power plug is for European standard. The lamp has a RS7 socket for standard 350Watt halogen bulbs.
