About the Item

Wonderful tripod floor lamp of gilt metal with yellow, green and red patina showing through the bronze colour. Represents a lotus flower or water lily, with a large tray-like leaf near the base engraved with flowers and leaves, and smaller leaves higher up the stem. A large lotus flower head forms the top of the lamp, with a bulb fixture inside. The stem is carved as faux-bamboo. There are also two intricately carved and gilded birds attached to the stem. Possibly from Japan. Same style lamp/sculpture shown at the Musée du Quai d'Orsay in Paris.
