Dutch Art Deco modernist floor lamp, 1920s
About the Item
A sculptural Dutch Art Deco 1920s floorlamp. Quite a rare design - the pointed geometric shapes in the base gives the piece a modernist appearance. It is made out of solid oak, with black decorations along the sides of the shaft and base. The design is simple yet very decorative. The piece will combine very well with Art Deco and modernist pieces or can be nice accent in an eclectic interior.
It works with one lightbulb (E27) and is fitted with a standard European plug. The (more modern but vintage) lampshade depicted is included.
The Dutch modernists were greatly inspired and influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright, which is clearly visible in this piece. Although there is no documentation about the designer of this lamp, we are quite sure it was done by one of the pioneering architects of the time.
The condition is good with only small signs of wear.
