About the Item
The Mangrovia lamp consists of 18 mirror polished stainless steel tubes. Every tube is bent, cut, welded and highly polished by hand. The lampshade is made of carbon and aluminum fiber blossoms.
Floor lamp dimension: D 133 x H 235 cm. Dimensions are customizable.
Limited Edition of 15.
Source of illumination: Three halogen/LED/Edison filament light bulbs, dimmable, wiring for US and European market available.
Each floor lamp is hand signed and numbered by the artists (Engraved), 100% handmade in Italy and comes with a “Certificate of Authenticity.”
Floating trees with unusual and contorted roots which spurt out of the water like spiders crawling on the surface, it was the mangrove forest, silent guardian of the Amazon River, who gave the inspiration for the lamp Mangrovia. The impenetrable roots transform into shiny tubes made from stainless steel shaped and welded patiently by hand, one by one.
The inspiration for the 'Mangrovia Em Flor' floor lamp came from the observation of the winded and beautiful roots of the Mangrove trees which grow along the Amazonas. We wanted to recall the oversized roots of this tree and therefore created an oversized lamp.
The stainless steel is shaped in order to achieve the organic form of the roots.
The artworks by Barberini & Gunnell are regularly shown at international art fairs, such as PAD London, PAD Genève, PAD Monaco, Salon Art and Design New York, ArtMiami.

All of our artworks travel with a shock watch system in order to monitorate rough handling by shippers and movers.

The cultural mix between the two artists with Italian, English and Austrian backgrounds results in unique architectural and interior design projects. From several private clients and collectors emerges the request for the conception and realization of ‘living art’, customized furniture for their special homes.
