About the Item

An attractive and most elegant Italian late 18th century Baroque st. patinated and Giltwood lamp. This impressive floor lamp is raised on a triangular base atop paw feet and decorated with Giltwood scrolling movements and winged cherubs at each top corner on a patinated background. Above the triangular base is an acanthus leaf decorated Giltwood socle which introduces the patinated spiral fluted central fut. The fut is decorated by an acanthus leaf carved plinth and top capital, and a wonderfully carved reserve of a winged cherub bust atop foliate designs. The top showcases a reeded and mottled Giltwood socle containing additional foliate decorations.
