Mid 20th Century Floor lamp in solid wood, Italian marble & zodiac signs decor
About the Item
Mid-century floor lamp, probably made in Italy between the 50s and 60s in which the magical theme of the zodiac signs was developed by more famous brands and designers of the mid-20th century modern such as Gio Ponti and Piero Fornasetti.
The structure is made of a solid wood parallelepiped embellished with 12 hammered brass tiles, each depicting in high relief one of the zodiac signs.
The gold color returns in the support of the lamp stem anchored to the gray marble base and in the recently replaced lamp holder, as well as the entire electrical system that has been rewired.
The floor lamp is in original vintage condition
The wooden part has been treated with a natural wax to protect and revive the wood grain.
The black marble base has a small scratch on a corner visible in the photos.
