Pair of Italian 17th Century Baroque Period Giltwood Floor Lamps

About the Item

A sensational and rare pair of Italian 17th-century Baroque period giltwood, gilt metal and Verde Antico marble torchières floor lamps. Each large-scale floor lamp is raised by 19th century triangular Verde Antico marble bases with concave sides and a mottled border. Above each base, are three beautiful scrolled foliate gilt metal movements leading up to the most impressive giltwood central futs. The richly carved futs display stunning arrays of detailed foliate carvings with cherubs above. The light bulbs are housed in the top and shine upwards. All original gilt throughout.
