True Pair of Italian Early 19th Century Louis XVI Style Giltwood Floor Lamps
About the Item
A stunning true pair of Italian early 19th century Louis XVI style patinated, giltwood and black polychrome floor lamps. Each floor lamp is raised by a square base with fine ball feet and a foliate wrap around band. The circular central support displays a baluster shape with richly carved acanthus leaves and seashell reserves. Above the patinated gray and gilt fluted support and is the most decorative and architectural scrolled top capital. Seated atop each floor lamp is a charming and finely detailed cherub riding a polychrome cloud while holding the beautiful six candle electrified torchière adorned with glass beads. All original gilt throughout.
