Pair of Italian 18th Century Baroque Period Patinated and Giltwood Floor Lamps
About the Item
A magnificent and very large scale pair of Italian 18th-century Baroque period patinated and giltwood floor lamps. Each statement-making torchière floor lamp is raised by elegant tope-shaped feet with large acanthus leaves at the triangular base adorned with tied swaging berried laurel bands. The impressive central supports display stunning arrays of richly carved designs with fine beaded bands, foliate designs, lovely scrolled movements, and berried laurel bands leading up to the mottled tops. All original gilt throughout.
