Founded in 1954 by Carel O. Lockhorn, Raak is recognized as one of the most important Dutch lighting manufacturers of the 20th century. The lamp has a solid rosewood square frame with solid aluminum legs and a large matte white glass ball. The Zodiac lamp is documented in RAAK catalogues from 1966-1974 and is part of the collection of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
