About the Item
Iconic mid-century industrial standing lamp by the brand Jieldé Lyon, France. Designed by Jean Louis Domecq back in the 1950s. He was a former car mechanic who lacked a flexible and robust work lamp in his workshop. Therefore, he himself developed this special lamp with its flexible ball joint.
The lamp became incredibly popular in French industry and assembly buildings, in architectural and design studios and later it appeared in private decor. The lamps are still produced today in France, where they are handmade in the city of Lyon.
This model has 4 long arms (40 cm) and an old car brake disc, mounted as a base. The lamp is stripped of paint / varnish, has a new brushed matt finish and new wires / electricity. Very raw in expression and gives a perfect light as a floor standing reading lamp.
The cord is 3 metres long.
