About the Item
A striking wall light manufactured by the Danish lighting manufacturer Louis Poulsen. This is the largest "maxi" version in the Model Saturn range. Designed by Joachim Lepper. The outer white lacquered metal frame is held onto the metal wall fitting with two screws (two are missing) which require an Allen key to release them. This light is usually for outdoor use but one of the glass shades has been broken in the past which means it won't be watertight for outdoor use. I have used a large round globe lightbulb in the images as an alternative option. This issue and condition is reflected in the price.
The glass lamp shade and lightbulb on the top and the bottom are located behind a glare ring. The single opaque glass shade screws onto the metal frame to keep it water tight. The ring around the glass shades not only protects them but also deflects any direct glare. The large horizontal reflector which reflects the light upwards and downwards resembles the ring around the planet Saturn which is where the wall light's name derives.
The wall light is in a used vintage condition with some bubbling to the metal in places where the water has encroached into the metal (see images). The shade has some dark grey discolouration from being exposed to the elements. I've done my best to remove this issue.
Rewired and in full working order. I have two others which I am in the process of listing separately which are all in varying states of condition but this is the worse one with the missing shade. The other two have both shades.
Two Edison E27 screw in lightbulbs are required. One in the top and one for the bottom.
