Pair of Arts & Crafts 3-Light Copper Wall Sconces by Winkelman & Van der Bijl

About the Item

Rare pair of handcrafted antique wall sconces by one of Holland's finest. If rare and highly attractive light fixtures is what you are looking for then these early 20th century sconces could take the space you have in mind for them to the next level. These highly attractive wall lights were handcrafted by no other than Winkelman & van der Bijl of Amsterdam in The Netherlands. Winkelman & Van der Bijl pretty much only worked for the most famous Dutch Arts & Crafts designers. Since their way of hand-crafting was so time consuming (hardly any machinery would have been used in those days) the quality and beauty is something that you don't find anymore in this day and age. It is also the reason why you will not find a great many pieces from these renowned makers, because their light fixtures and also their clocks would take them so long to create that they did not make a large number of items in the course of the Dutch Arts & Crafts era. And the prices they had to charge would make their light fixtures way too expensive for most. This beautifully designed pair of copper sconces is inlaid with emerald color, glass gem stones. This striking Arts & Crafts element combined with the handmade, stretched fabric shades are just some of the details that make this pair still 'en vogue' in a hundred years from now. This kind of true style and beauty will never go out of fashion. The patina combined with the warm light that this unique pair radiates will take the entry hall or the wall of a library or study to whole different level. You can imagine how thrilled we were when we were given the opportunity to not only buy this remarkable pair, we were actually offered to purchase a unique set of four Arts & Crafts light fixtures. This set of four was specifically designed and handcrafted for the house out of which we purchased them. The new owners of that house had no intention of using these lights (unbelievable, but sometimes these things happen). On the other hand, it is therefore that we now are thrilled to be able to offer them to you on this great platform and in this very good condition. These, these very rare Arts & Crafts sconces too will be rewired to the highest standard for safe and immediate usage in the country where they will be used en enjoyed. If you already have a space in mind for them and when you appreciate them as much as we do then you will love our price. Especially since perfect packing and worldwide shipping from our store to your door are complimentary. Maximum height x width x depth of each sconce 14.2 x 9 x 5.5 inches. We have a passion for the unique, for quality, for stylish yet practical and for the best craftsmanship of years gone by. Your purchases will be extremely well packaged and we look forward to serving you (again).
