About the Item
A stunning and most decorative pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. Ormolu sconces. Each impressive five light sconce is centered by a lovely acanthus leaf decorated bottom finial. Above the finial is the pierced scrolling back plate which is designed with acanthus leaves and beaded bands that come together at the peak. In the center of the back plate is a handsome ram which supports four 'C' scrolled arms displaying spiraling fluted designs and foliate decorated candle cups. Above the ram's head is the fifth 'S' scrolled arm with similar designs, however presents a frosted Glass flame.
