Pair of French 19th Century Louis XVI St. Ormolu Sconces
About the Item
A most attractive pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu sconces. Each three arm sconce is centered by an elegant tapered backplate with a fine bottom foliate finial and striking acanthus leaves. The three elegantly scrolled arms are adorned with additional acanthus leaves leading to beautiful fluted bobeches with tied laurel bands and lovely candle cups in a rich satin and burnished finish. Above are striking intricately detailed foliate and blooming flower designs with a charming tied ribbon.
