Pair of Ifö Sweden Glass Wall Lamp Sconces Blue, Modern Bathroom Light, 1950s

About the Item

Pair of two original vintage wall sconces from Ifö, Sweden, made circa 1950s to 1960s. They come in a rare blue color version and the glass screens are made from white opaline glass. Perfect to be mounted on each side of a mirror in the bathroom. The lamps were designed by Stig Carlsson (1932-2008) in the 1950s, though often attributed to Sigvard Bernadotte. In 1955 Stig Carlsson became the artistic director at Ifö in Bromölla. Stig Carlsson was a sculptor and designer working in glass, metal and wood. He had studied in Stockholm, Italy and Spain and shortly he was an apprentice under Gunnar Nylund at Rörstrand, Sweden. He stayed at Ifö until late 1970s. Both lamps are marked with Ifö and model number 6035. Use light bulbs E14 Edison screw fitting. Measurements for each lamp height: 29 cm (11.42") width: 10 cm (3.94") from wall and out: 11 cm (4.33")

    Wear consistent with age and use. Very good used condition. No chips on visible parts, but minor chips on inner screw parts are possible and normal. No cracks or repairs.
