A rare and striking pair of vintage wall sconces designed by Philippe Rogier for Oxar, France, circa 1970s. These sculptural lights embody the essence of French avant-garde lighting design of the era, combining functional innovation with an artistic presence.
Each sconce features a minimalist metal base—from which extend three concentric spiral elements, secured in place by mirrored reflector bulbs. When illuminated, these spirals project a dynamic and atmospheric light pattern on the wall, creating a hypnotic interplay of light and shadow.
The design is as much kinetic art as it is lighting, with a strong sculptural impact whether switched on or off. The fixtures are wall-mounted with two discreet screws and include the original reflector bulbs, integral to achieving the signature light effect.
