Antique 1920s art nouveau Georges Van Der Straeten bronze budoir lamp sculpture in the shape of a young woman warming herself at a camp fire, with inkwell or keepsake compartment.
Georges Van der Straeten was a Belle Epoque sculptor born in Ghent, Belgium, 1856. He studied under the Neo-Baroque sculptor Jef Lambeaux (1852-1908). Moved to paris at 27 where he lived and worked for many years until his death in 1928.
