About the Item
Gorgeous and fun glazed ceramic lamp, made in the 1980s, in the style of contemporary artist François Chatain. This large table lamp draws attention thanks to its colorful composition. The body or base is structured through a succession of shapes that simulate stones of different sizes, like a balanced tower.
The lampshade, meanwhile, is also large and conical in shape. The vibrant color palette recalls the cheerful and striking spirit of 1980s design, with a nod to the aesthetic of the Memphis movement. At this time, design moved away from the prevailing minimalism of previous decades and adopted a bolder approach, featuring geometric shapes, unusual colors, and materials.
The glazed ceramics and the arrangement of shapes are reminiscent of the work of French artist François Chatain, an eclectic artist influenced by postmodern design.
