About the Item
This elegant pair of vintage porcelain lamps was converted from lidded Chinese vase jars, beautifully hand-painted in the Famille Rose palette. Crafted in the mid-20th century, each lamp showcases a vivid tableau of birds perched among flowering branches, with vibrant pink peonies and lush greenery set against a soft cream ground. Traditional Chinese calligraphy adorns the reverse of each vase, lending poetic charm and cultural depth.
The porcelain bodies are mounted on custom hardwood bases and topped with matching wooden lids, creating a graceful, lidded-urn silhouette. The original shades are included, showing only minor wear consistent with age. Wiring is intact and functional. A refined addition to both classic and eclectic interiors, these statement lamps bring timeless character and painterly elegance to any setting.
Dimensions: 34" high with shade (included).
Excellent condition with light surface crazing typical of age, minor patina to fittings. One vase is approximately ½ inch taller than the other (see pictures).
