Royal Delft Imari "Pijnacker" Style Table Lamp with New Ivory Pleated Lampshade

About the Item

Meticulously handcrafted by Amitābha Studio in Amsterdam from a vintage Royal Delft (De Porceleyne Fles) vase, Mariko is a one-of-a-kind table lamp. This remarkable piece, crafted in 1976, showcases the exquisite brushwork of Delft master painter U.R. Kuczinski, depicting a serene scene of a peacock poised amidst a lush garden and lotus pond, surrounded by intricate florals. Complementing the artistry of the vase is a custom pleated ivory lampshade with cobalt blue trim, paired with a matching royal blue cord, seamlessly blending classic design with modern sophistication. The lamp was created without harming the original vase in any way. The Imari or "Pijnacker" style is renowned for its vibrant red, blue, and gold palette, a tribute to the 17th-century Dutch fascination with Japanese Kakiemon and Imari porcelain. This fascination led to the replication of these designs by Delft factories in the early 18th century. Some historians attribute the earliest Delftware in Imari colors to Adriaan Pijnacker, lending the style its colloquial name. Since 1902, De Porceleyne Fles has been celebrated for producing these intricate designs. The production of Imari or "Pijnacker" pieces is a labor-intensive process requiring exceptional skill and artistry. Unlike traditional Delfts Blue models, which utilize blue paint as an underglaze and are fired at high temperatures, the red and gold elements of Imari pieces are applied as an overglaze. This requires a second firing at a lower temperature, enhancing the vibrancy and richness of the colors. The gold paint used is made from pure 24-karat gold, further emphasizing the luxury and exclusivity of these pieces. Due to the high costs associated with this process, De Porceleyne Fles ceased production of Pijnacker style pieces in 2009, making them increasingly rare and desirable. We also ensure compatibility for global use by offering a free plug customization service to match the electrical standards of your specific country. Royal Delft Green (Delvert) Table Lamp (1968-1976) with New Liberty London Shade
By Royal Delft
Located in AMSTERDAM, NL
Meticulously handcrafted by Amitābha Studio in Amsterdam from a vintage Royal Delft (De Porceleyne Fles) Delvert vase, Juno is a sweet one-of-a-kind table lamp. The Delvert line, named by fusing the French word for green (vert) with the city of Delft, was an innovative creation by Dutch painter Herman Sanders. Characterized by its rare blue-green hue and hand-painted designs sealed with a milky glaze, the Delvert series was produced only from 1968 to 1976 due to the challenges in maintaining its distinctive color during firing. The lamp was created without harming the original vase in any way. Named after the goddess Juno, associated with the peacock, this lamp is a rare and exquisite find...
