Silver Plated Robot Lamp
About the Item
This prototype was custom crafted by our own artisans inspired by the 1970s Robot lamp by the Torino Lamp Company part of Atrio Consolidated Industries.
We made a few improvements.
Ours is fabricated entirely of copper and given a brushed finish then electroplated in .005 silver which gives it a rich platinum glow that will not oxidize.
The "hands" can slide back and forth to accommodate differently shaped light bulbs.
Inside the head is an LED light which remains on even when the lamp is switched off giving illumination to the eyes.
Turn his nose clockwise once to light both the head and hands, twice for only the hands, thrice for only the head, then the final click for off.
He stands 18 inches high including the chrome top globe light bulb and the round base is six inches diameter.

One of my favorite lamps. I love the atomic mace-like sputnik starburst ball of spikes seeming to hover above the crisp round brass conical base.
It is unclear who originally made it. Some say Laurel or Stiffel. I believe it was Mutual Sunset Lamp Company but have yet to find documentation.
My only grievance with the original is that the material was not real brass; it was cast aluminum with a brass finish which is prone to wear off...
