Vintage very decorative small table lamps bed lamps - a pair

Made of a large sculpted wood scrolling acanthus leaf
Distressed painted in the colors taupe and white on a black base
Normal fitting E 27, 230 volt and max 40w, wired with switch.
Us compatible but an adapter for plug is required

Acanthus leaves, in architecture and decorative arts, a stylized ornamental motif.
It is based on a characteristic Mediterranean plant with jagged leaves the Acanthus spinosus ot Acanthus Mollis have been claimed as the main mode
The first decorative use was in the 5th century bc by the Greeks on temple roof ornaments, on wall friezes, and on the capital of Corinthian column.
The acanthus leaf is a wanted motif, used in almost every style period also nowadays.
