About the Item

Lovingly handcrafted by Amitābha Studio from a pair of hand-painted Zenith Gouda vases (circa 1950s–1960s) in a rare Delft green palette, these one-of-a-kind table lamps unite hand-painted mid-century Dutch ceramics with rich color, elegant proportion, and a touch of playful ornament. The ceramic bases feature lush, scrolling floral motifs rendered in tonal shades of green, a decorative reinterpretation of traditional Delftware that became especially popular in the postwar period. Their trumpet-shaped silhouettes and softly faceted octagonal bases lend a graceful, architectural quality, while the high-gloss glaze enhances the visual depth of each brushstroke. We’ve paired these sculptural bases with handmade salmon pink satin lampshades, finished with a green French braided trim that echoes the tones in the ceramic decoration. The smooth satin softly catches the light, while the trim provides a subtle ornamental flourish, creating a sense of both harmony and contrast between shade and base. These lamps are sold as a pair and offer rich design versatility. They would be especially at home in a Paris-style apartment, where antiques and soft textures mingle with curated color stories. They also suit a Grandmillennial bedroom layered with florals and vintage furniture, a Palm Beach-style sitting room with lacquered bamboo and pastel upholstery, or an Eclectic interior filled with sculptural lighting, vintage textiles, and bold pattern. Their distinctive palette and ornamental silhouette make them also ideal for Maximalist or Hollywood Regency spaces. Wherever they are placed, this pair adds color, joy, and timeless decorative interest. The lamps were created without harming the original vases in any way. ⸻ Please note: The lamps are fully wired for use in the U.S. Additionally, the listed height includes the lampshades. We also ensure compatibility for global use by offering a free plug customization service to match the electrical standards of your specific country. For U.S. customers: Any new tariff-related surcharges are already included in our shipment costs. We take care of these fees in advance so there are no unexpected charges upon delivery. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us! ⸻ About the Makers: Zenith Founded in the 18th century and formally known as Plateelbakkerij Zenith from 1915 onward, Zenith was a leading Dutch pottery manufacturer based in Gouda. The company became especially well known for its high-quality earthenware decorated in traditional Delft styles, including rare green-on-white variants like these. During the mid-20th century, Zenith’s production reflected both a reverence for classical Dutch motifs and a bold embrace of decorative color. The studio closed in 1984, but its work remains highly collectible for its craftsmanship, hand-painted charm, and important place in Dutch ceramic history.
