"Vaca Colgada" is a large mirror, designed by Nestor Perkal and manufactured by Oscar Maschera. Leather colors available: tan, sienna, orange, red, red-purple, dark brown, khaki, blue, black. DIMENSIONS (metal structure): D. 35.4", W. 47.2", H. 5.9" DIMENSIONS (leather): D. 39.3", W. 51.1" Each mirror is never the same as the one before, nor as the one that comes after, as well as the leather used to make it. Each hide, as it reaches the workshop, is hung on a frame/shelf and a hole is then made in its centre to see the mirror. Each hide is unique, as well as each mirror. "Mirrors should reflect a little before throwing back images." Jean Cocteau, Le sang d'un poète (1930) Nestor Perkal said about "Vaca Colgada": "This object has always fascinated me. At Oscar Maschera I looked for what leather could bring to this object and how it could become its supporting structure." NESTOR PERKAL, born in Buenos Aires, lives and works in Paris. Though he trained as an architect, his work has always been oriented to design and interior architecture. In 1985, he founded an international design gallery in Paris, l’Espace Nestor Perkal, where he was among the first in Europe to show and sell pieces from the “New International Design” movement: Memphis Milano, Mariscal and many others.
