Provenance: from the 2022 auctions of the estate of the famed designer Karl Lagerfeld.
An extraordinary Louis XV carved, gessoed and gilt massive baroque mirror with an intricate and delicate foliate scrolled serpentine surround. The openwork crest with an open central shell flanked by flowers and open corner cartouches. The outer surround with clusters of flowers and cartouches with curved leaves. The inner surround with a serpentine band of recessed ovals. With a thick conforming wood backing for support.
Dimensions: 104" high x 60" wide x 3" deep
Condition: Please review the detail photos. Various signs of age and wear including some minor chips or wear to the gilt here and there and a few touched up wood losses mentioned for accuracy as the presentation is extraordinary. but overall fine condition for the age.
