Elegant gilded fireplace mirror dating back to the late 19th century, a refined example of the decorative art of the period. The piece stands out for its richly crafted frame, gilded with gold leaf, featuring classic motifs and generous proportions, designed to enhance the wall above the fireplace, as was customary in bourgeois and noble residences of the late 19th century.
The mirror is original and still retains its antique mercury silvering, a technique that has now disappeared, which gives the reflective surface a unique depth and brightness that is impossible to replicate with modern treatments.
