Fine English Regency Parcel-Ebonized Giltwood Mirror, circa 1800

A truly exceptional circa 1800 George III English Regency neoclassical style bichrome giltwood and gesso overmantel mirror having top cavetto-and-ebonized-ball cornice surmounting three panels with acanthus corbels headed by ebonized ram's heads; central panel having ebonized Greco-Roman god Apollo in a putto lead, lion-pulled chariot with attendant and heraldic angel; left panel, ebonized Erato with lyre in wreath; right panel, ebonized Venus and Cupid, above three beveled mirror reserves divided by ebonized cross-banded gilt Corinthian colonnettes; the larger central mirror above foliate scroll and central shell rinceau panel, and side mirrors above display or garniture shelves supported by bichrome corbels issuing honeysuckle rinceau with wreath-and-anthemion ornaments either side all on breakfront ebonized base.
