About the Item
A very fine French Empire style 19th century Napoleon III giltwood and gesso carved figural mirror frame, flanked by a pair of sitting winged sphinxes, with carved scrolls, garlands and crowned with a pierced carved Satyr's mask with foliate swags and acanthus, the top with a pair of floral urns. All gilding is the original 24-carat gold leaf, Paris, circa 1870-1880.
Note: The original beveled center mirror plate has some age spotting and silver peeling that are not shown on the images due to the reflection of the photography for this listing.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Minor fading. A truly beautiful and great quality mirror. Overall condition is very good with minor touch-ups and restorations. The mirror plate has some age spotting and silver peeling from behind. The center mirror images do not show some of the silver peeling.
