About the Item
A striking 1970s decorative mirror manufactured by Mechanical Mirror Works, Inc. under their Brytone line, featuring a bold graphic depiction of a coastal sunset. The composition includes a large yellow sun with stylized cut-out wave lines, mirrored in high contrast against the glass surface. In the lower left, two etched seagulls stand on pilings with faint reflections below, adding depth and seaside charm to the design.
The mirror is framed in a polished beveled glass border and finished with a hardboard back, clearly stamped with the Brytone and manufacturer's mark including the company's Madison Avenue, New York address. This piece embodies the pop-art influenced graphics and mirrored décor trends of the late mid-century period, ideal for adding a nostalgic coastal touch to any interior.
Light signs of age are visible, including surface wear to the yellow sun graphic and some minor edge wear to the mirror border. The etched design remains crisp, and the glass retains good clarity. A nique example of retro American wall décor.
