About the Item
This elegant antique gilt mirror was created in France, circa 1820. Rectangular in shape, and almost 5.5 feet long, the large mirror features exquisite hand carved floral, leaf and fruit motifs in high relief all around, and embellished with a discrete engraved foliage decor on the frame. The lovely wall mirror is dressed with mercury glass and wood parquet backing. The period Restauration mirror is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich gold leaf finish. Versatile, the mirror could be hang vertically or horizontally and would make a statement of beauty in a master bathroom, on top of a buffet in a dining room, a large console in an entryway, or over a mantel in a living area.
